The magazine we create for Versus Arthritis has scooped a top award for the second year in a row.
A total of 6,500 new donors, an annual income of more than £180,000, a 94% recommendation rate and a 76% retention rate.
These were among the key statistics that helped Inspire magazine for Versus Arthritis triumph in last week’s 2025 Memcom Excellence Awards.
Conceived, written and designed by CPL One, Inspire won in the Best Magazine category, for publications with a circulation of less than 20,000.
Over the past couple of years, the magazine has played a huge role in driving the charity’s strategy to create an effective and sustainable membership proposition.
The 2025 success follows on from the 2024 Memcom awards, when the magazine won in the Best Relaunch category and judges also recognised Tracey Lattimore as Best Editor.
Alex Gould, product development manager for Versus Arthritis, said: “This is brilliant news! Thanks to Tracey and the whole CPL One team for your hard work on Inspire. There are around 10 million people in the UK living with arthritis and Inspire is a fantastic product, fundamental to our strategy to recruit and retain new members to support and benefit from the important work we do.”
CPL One managing director Mike Sewell added: “The judges for the Memcom awards come from a broad range of membership organisations, so it’s great to receive this industry recognition again.
“Tracey, art director Chloe Bage and the other members of our team work really hard to keep the content and design of the magazine fresh and engaging. It’s this approach, coupled with the number of people who want to be part of the Inspire and Versus Arthritis community, that caught the eye of the judges.”
CPL One projects for the Nuclear Institute, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and the Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association were also shortlisted for the 2025 awards.
