Helping people belong in our community

A new partnership with Abbey People will help support local families and individuals in Cambridge.

Making a positive impact in our local area is one of the aims of our new partnership with Abbey People, an organisation that supports families and individuals right on our doorstep here in north Cambridge.

We’re delighted to announce that we are now one of Abbey People’s corporate partners, and will be assisting with design and communications projects, as well as getting involved in initiatives that foster relations between our employees and the wider community.

This partnership is a natural evolution of our ongoing connection to Abbey People. Individuals have volunteered at the Food Hub and we have supported food and gift collections at Christmas and throughout the year.

We are also exploring ways in which CPL One people can dedicate time to volunteer for activities such as litter picks, greenspace maintenance and fundraising efforts. These schemes will all contribute to making the Abbey area a cleaner, greener, and more connected place to live – while directly supporting the range of initiatives that Abbey People instigates.

Nicky Shepard, CEO of Abbey People, said: “We’re incredibly excited about the energy and enthusiasm CPL One brings to this partnership. Their vision for employee engagement, combined with their hands-on approach to community support, will strengthen our ability to make a difference in the Abbey ward.”

Sophie Hewitt-Jones, director at CPL One, said: “Collaborating with Abbey People is a lovely opportunity for us to get involved in projects right on our doorstep, and make a tangible difference to our community. CPL One colleagues are keen to use their skills to complement the fantastic work that Abbey People does, and we are all going to learn and grow as a result.”
