Congratulations to the trio who have received awards nominations for their editorial excellence.
Three CPL One editors have been nominated for prizes at this year’s British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) Awards.
Amy Bennett (Quality World, for the Chartered Quality Institute), Ian Farrell (Circular, for the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management) and Louise Parfitt (Edge, for the Institute of Leadership), have all been shortlisted for the Editors’ Editor of the Year Award, which recognises editors’ dedication and outstanding contribution to print and digital editorial work.
Louise said of the relationship she has built with the Institute of Leadership: “It has been fantastic to establish a solid and productive relationship with the Institute and its members. Along with the wider CPL One team, I have immersed myself in the face-to-face events and online offerings in order to get to know the audience and its real needs.”
Ian commented: “My editorial philosophy centres on a holistic approach to storytelling. I believe that precision and depth must be matched by compelling design, stunning photography, and engaging, creative writing. A magazine should inform, challenge, and entertain in equal measure.”
Amy said: “In an era when artificial intelligence is becoming ever-more integrated into our daily lives, I work hard to ensure that strong, people-led journalism and design remain at the heart of how we produce each issue of the magazine.”
CPL One director Sophie Hewitt-Jones added: “Great editorial work is at the heart of what we do at CPL One. Our editors collaborate with clients to bring the stories that matter to their audiences – with intelligence, empathy and creativity. It’s brilliant to see them recognised for the highly skilled work they do.”
The BSME is the only UK society purely for digital and print editors and senior editorial staff. For more than 40 years, it has brought editors together – championing their work and that of editorial excellence across magazine publishing.
The annual BSME Awards recognise the work of the best editors, art directors and columnists, as well as magazine launches and covers. The Editors’ Editor of the Year Award winners are chosen by the BSME committee, and will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on 26 November.
