Our triumph at the 2026 Memcom Excellence Awards is recognition for everything that everyone at CPL One does to create brilliant work and provide outstanding service for our clients.
We fought off competition from five other shortlisted organisations to win in the coveted Agency of the Year category.
The awards ceremony, held at the InterContinental London Park Lane on 24 September, recognised and celebrated the very best of the membership sector.
The judges were drawn from organisations including professional bodies, trade associations, membership charities and trade unions.
“We are thrilled to win this award,” said our managing director Mike Sewell. “The judges are highly respected and they assess entries from agencies and suppliers that are also highly respected. So for CPL One to be picked out ahead of all the others is a huge feather in our cap.
“Our award entry focused on how we build strong partnerships with our clients to create and execute projects and campaigns on their behalf. ‘Partnership’ can be an over-used word and it’s not always easy to achieve – I am grateful to the clients of CPL One who trust and encourage us to work in this way, because that’s when the best results happen.
“There’s some exciting changes happening at CPL One as we look to ensure our services continue to be compelling and relevant. However,this award demonstrates we are already doing a lot of things right.”
It was also a good night for our team members, including Tess Carter (pictured right) who create and produce the Off Course podcast in collaboration with Nautilus International. Their work was recognised with a Highly Commended award.
And a number of other CPL One clients enjoyed success at the awards. These included the Chartered Quality Institute’s Vince Desmond, who won the CEO Leadership Award, succeeding previous winner Sarah Poulter, from the Chartered Institute of Wastes Management.
Meanwhile the Nuclear Institute’s Fiona Rayment was recognised as Best President or Chair.
The win follows hot on the heels of the news that three of our editors have been shortlisted in the British Society of Magazine Editors’ awards. Fingers crossed for further success at those!
